Before making his career in Bollywood, Boman Irani was involved in selling potato chips. From there he shifted to theatre where he did a variety of roles for comic and dramatic plays. He made his debut in the 2000 film, Josh. In only eight years, he has starred in more than 32 films and performed in roles ranging from comedy king to serious villains. Along with this he has also done TV commercials for the likes of CEAT.

Boman shot to fame with his performance in the 2003 film Munnabhai M.B.B.S. In the movie, he played a role of an arrogant medical college dean. Apart from this, Boman has also done serious roles with splendid ease, like that of an arrogant father in Lakshya. His role in Khosla Ka Ghosla also received much appreciation. A very talented actor, Boman Irani's acting has put life into many otherwise dry characters.
