Bombay Jayshree BIOGRAPHY
Bombay Jayashri is a critically acclaimed Carnatic music vocalist and playback singer. She started learning music under the guidance of her father, N. N. Subramaniam and later took apprenticeship under T. R. Balamani Ammal from Mumbai. Since 1989, she has been under the guidance of the legendary Lalgudi G. Jayaraman. She has also a strong command on Veena. Apart from this, she also holds a diploma in music from the Gandharv Maha Vidyalya.
Bombay Jayashri is among the few vocalists who have performed in all major institutions, sabhas and festivals in India. An A Grade All India Radio artist, she has released several albums with major record labels like HMV, Inreco and Sangeetha. Also a playback singer for Tamil films, she has worked with Oscar winning music composer A. R. Rahman on several projects. Some of her famous film songs are Narumugaiye from Iruvar and Vaseegara from Minnale. She is recipient of several awards from various reputed institutes like The Music Academy, Krishna Gana Sabha and Indian Fine Arts.
