Dharmendra was born in Punjab, India and is one of the most successful actors of Hindi cinema. He made his debut in 1960 after he won the Filmfare Spot The Talent contest. He has done more than 200 films till date in various languages. At the peak of his career, he was voted amongst the seven most handsome men in the world. Over 70 of his films have received golden jubilee status thus concreting his acting prowess. His long list of super hits include movies like Sholay, Pratigya, Chupke Chupke, Raja Jani, Seeta Aur Geeta, Jugnu, Ghulami, Batwara And Hathyar.

Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur and had four children with her namely Ajeya, Vijeeta, Sunny and Bobby Deol. Sunny and Bobby are both now successful actors themselves. Later, he married the dream girl of Bollywood, Hema Malini with whom he had two daughters Esha and Ahana Deol. Recently, he became an active politician with the BJP from Bikaner. He has won many awards but his latest one is IIFA Lifetime Achievement. He has also marked his comeback in Bollywood with spectacular performances in movies like Life In A...Metro and Apne - both successful at the box office.
