Born to the famous Kapoor family of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor has had acting in his blood. Apart from being Prithviraj Kapoor’s great grandson and great actor and filmmaker, Raj Kapoor’s grandson, Ranbir Kapoor is the talented son of popular actors, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh and is also Karishma and Kareena Kapoor’s cousin. Before coming to Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor learned acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Before starting his career as an actor, he also worked as an assistant to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the critically acclaimed film, Black. Bhansali later went on to cast him as the lead actor for his film, Saawariya (2007). After making his debut with Saawariya, Ranbir starred in the Yash Raj Film, Bachna Ae Haseeno which went on to be classified as a semi hit film. Soon, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in Wake Up Sid and several other films. He is also a recipient of a Filmfare Award, IIFA and Star Screen Award for Best Male Debut Award for the film Saawariya.
Raajneeti is a 2010 Indian political thriller film directed and produced by Prakash Jha, with a screenplay by Anjum Rajabali and Prakash Jha, and starring Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai, Arjun Rampal, Naseeruddin Shah and Nana Patekar in the lead roles.
