Urmila Matondkar is an Indian film actress who entered the film industry as a child artist in films like Kalyug and Masoom. But, her mainstream debut as an all grown actress came in 1991 with Narsimha. Soon after she established herself as a popular actress with films like Rangeela, Judai and Satya. These films mostly brought out her style and dancing skills and she was soon dubbed as the Indian sex symbol by the media of the day. After this she switched to more demanding roles as an actor and gave a range of critically acclaimed performances in films like Kaun, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Bhoot and Ek Haseena Thi. She has also performed brilliantly in art and contemporary films like Tehzeeb, Pinjar and Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara. She won her first award as the Most Sensational Actress for the film Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and swept every award in the country for her performance in the film Bhoot. She is also the recipient of the Rajiv Gandhi Award for Achievement in Cinema. She will soon be heard in the animated film Ab Dilli Door Nahin.
