Hostel is a 2011 Hindi language film.Made in Mumbai’s Bollywood, the film explores the psychology of ‘Ragging’ (Hazing/Initiation) and its disastrous effects on a student’s psyche.The film has been directed by writer-director Manish Gupta who has scripted Sarkar (2005) and has directed The Stoneman Murders (2009).One night at the boys' hostel at Jaigarh University, a senior student Feroz (Mukesh Tiwari) and his goons harass freshman geek Vishnu Pandey (Subeer Goswamin), stripping him down, molesting him and tying a collar around his neck, forcing him to act like a dog. His cries for help fall on deaf ears.
