Krishan Kumar, affectionately known as K.K, was born in Trichur, Kerala. He moved to Delhi for studies and became quite popular by performing in annual events and local bands. He was the lead vocalist for three different college bands. K.K always wanted to be a doctor but destiny had something different in store for him. It was very late in life when K.K. realized that singing can be a lucrative career for him. After graduating from Delhi, K.K moved to the city of dreams - Mumbai and starting rendering his voice to advertising jingles. His big break came when he was offered to sing a one minute jingle composed by Leslie Lewis for UTV. Till date, K.K has sung over three thousand jingles in over eleven languages for well known brands like Bajaj, Asian paints, Colgate Gel, Cinthol, and the famous 'Yeh Dil Maange More...' from Pepsi. He also gave voice to several title tracks of TV serials like 'Just Mohabbat' and 'Hip Hip Hurray'.

A few years later, K. K. cut his debut album 'Pal' with music arranged, composed and produced by Leslie Lewis. The album was a big success and industry started recognizing him. Music Director Vishal Bhardwaj offered him to sing ' Chhod Aaye Hum Wo Galiyaan ' for Gulzar's 'Maachis'. The song shot him to fame and soon K. K. joined the big league of popular playback singers. The very difficult song 'Tadap Tadap ke...' from 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' was another big winner that proved K. K.'s capability as one of the most talented singers.
