Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, Ishqiya is a tale of romance that blossoms between individuals caught in the web of crime. Two thieves, Khalujan (Naseeruddin Shah) and Babban (Arshad Warsi), are on the run from their crime boss, Mushtaq (Salman Shahid). Things get worse and they decide to seek refuge with an old friend where they meet his widow, Krishna (Vidya Balan), a beautiful lady. As they plan their escape, they find themselves fascinated towards Krishna - Khalujan with his vision of old-fashioned love and Babban with his definition of lust. But there's more to unravel than what they wish for. Set in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Ishqiya explores basic human emotions as influenced by desire, greed, revenge and betrayal.
